PM2.5 filters are recommended for protection against airborne particulate matter, air pollution, dust and pollen allergies. These filters consist of 5 layers and combined with filter pocketed face masks, they can filter up to 95% of airborne particulates as small as 0.3 micron. This filtration is as efficient as offered by N95 respirator masks. However, face masks with replaceable PM2.5 filters can trap harmful particles exponentially longer compared to disposable masks. As a layer of these filters, absorbing power of activated carbon helps to defend your respiratory system by trapping harmful particles in it and prevents them from damaging your respiratory system. The PM2.5 filter paired with a fabric mask offers you the best of both worlds: significantly greater protection than a cloth mask alone, but with far less inhalation resistance and potential heart damage than an N95 Respirator. What is PM2.5?
The air we breathe in is full of minuscule particles such as chemicals, smoke, dust or allergens which might be in the form of gases, solids or liquids. These tiny airborne particulate matters are mostly invisible to our eye and referred to as PM.
